News & Views: A Trip to the Dentist

DentistHow long is the reach of a great customer service experience? Since we have been talking a lot about the customer experience at the Tuscano Agency lately, all of us here are much more aware when we receive great service. A recent experience in our family caused me to reflect on the fact that great service often reaches far beyond the immediate recipient.

Our daughter is getting ready to head back to school (in Italy) this week. In a rush to take care of last minute things, she went to the dentist and discovered she had an abscessed tooth and needed a root canal! Our family dentist was unable to take care of her on such short notice and neither were the other two specialists we called. In typical twenty-year-old fashion, Grace thought she could live with it while she was away for the next four months! To our extreme relief, we got a call last Thursday from our dentist saying he would come in Friday morning and take care of Grace's dentistry. Three and a half hours later Grace is home, showered and off to meet up with a friend from school. Who slept better that night? You know it was Teri and me!

Good story right? Well here are a few other items to note. We have only been seeing this dentist for about 6 months, so we are not exactly on his VIP list. Secondly, Friday was his day off, so for him to call us and volunteer to take care of our daughter exceeded our expectations and came as a huge relief. While Grace was the direct recipient of his service, you can probably relate how appreciative we were for his above & beyond treatment. I can finally say I really like my dentist - but I still hate going to the dentist!

Everywhere we go we hear that the market is getting softer. For you and I that means more capacity and more competition. There is more pressure around the market, but the opportunity to write E&S business is always there and that's where we can help. We are here to give you expert service and hopefully, help you be a hero.

Habitational business is the second largest line of business that we write at Tuscano. Our appetite for this business is expansive and includes apartment buildings, subsidized housing, retail/habitational mix, student housing, senior housing and more (think four walls, a roof and indoor plumbing). Tuscano also has the ability to write property coverage 'on the water' with or without wind. We will write schedules of dwellings, whether currently occupied or as investment properties. For above-average dwelling schedules, we can offer admitted paper and direct bill. We can write new homes or older homes with updates. Remember, habitational is a fairly broad category so give us a call or shoot one of the property underwriters an email and we'd be happy to let you know what we can do. So spread the word through your office - Tuscano writes habitational business! For a detailed map of where we write business, check out our marketing page.

Writing E&S insurance should not send a shiver up your spine nor be as intense as getting a root canal! We can make your experience a good one because we have a great group of people who care about your business. They are friendly, eager to help and knowledgeable about whatever type of account you have sitting on your desk!

Have a great day
