News & Views: Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I feel sorry for all the folks who don’t believe in you anymore. Santa, believing in you is like my super-power. Whenever I write to you during the holidays you always seem to come through for me - just look at how well the Pittsburgh Pirates played last year! Yet, after watching the Polar Express again last weekend with my family it reminded me how important faith is in my life. In fact, after the movie ended, Teri, the kids and I all said in unison “We still believe!”

So here we are again in the middle of December and I am just getting this letter out to you. I swear it’s because I’m busy and not procrastinating! I’d like to pass along my highest recommendation that all of the employees at the Tuscano Agency be on your EXTRA EXTRA GOOD list. They are working so hard and they are always thinking about how they can take care of our customers. Please take extra care of them for me.

As for everyone else, I do have one or two things I’ve been thinking about lately and maybe you can help me out:

Utica Partner Badge
  • Do you think you could spare a few elves (in fact feel free to leave them under the tree on Christmas Eve). I’ve been told you have the best-trained workforce in the world and we sure could use a few more staff around here to share the workload. They say insurance isn’t rocket science, but I kind of think E&S insurance is.
  • Joady would like to open a Doggie Day Care here at the office. I guess after offering free child care for our employees for 20 years, she thinks it is time for Brie and Diego to have their own space!
  • We have been very successful writing trucking business in Maryland lately, but we sure could use another market. Could you please send some elves over to Eastern Atlantic’s offices to help them get their filings done for Maryland? And speaking of Maryland, please don’t let this get back to the president of National Indemnity, but that company is rocking and rolling in NJ and MD!
  • Mike is heading our building construction project and he needs a new phone that will magically make contractors return his calls. Also, if you could make them give him real bids for the work that they would do, that would be huge!
  • The Personal Lines team wants help getting the word out to all of our insurance producers that they ought to send their personal umbrella business to Tuscano! They have loads of options for writing a monoline umbrella and as you know, everyone could sure use one!
  • They say go big or go home, so here’s a biggie – how about making 2015 a triple-crown year for Pittsburgh? I’m just saying a Super Bowl, Stanley Cup, and World Series pennant would feel like the eighties again – I’d even grow a mullet!

Finally Santa, I would like to add one last request before I sign off. I’m sure you have many requests for Peace on Earth, but I was thinking of something else that might be just as effective. I wish we could all learn empathy so that perhaps if we can stand in another’s shoes or see the world through another’s eyes, then maybe we can start to make our own peace in this world.

Good will to men,
Rob
