My father always said if you don’t have anything to say – keep it short! Last weekend was the 1-year anniversary of Bill’s passing so my dad-isms are flooding my brain. His was a life well-lived right up until his last breakfast at Ruthie’s Diner. Dad started the Tuscano Agency from scratch, literally, on the front porch of our family home. He was the hardest working man I’ve ever known, and I can’t really recall a situation where he ever gave up; he never gave up on his kids, the business, or his country!
This Labor Day weekend, my siblings and I are making a trek across the state to Milford PA, the small town where my maternal grandmother was raised, and where my dad spent a good deal of his early life. When we were young, we would stay at my grandmother’s house in Lake Ariel, which at the time was just a small village with an awesome public beach and lake for swimming, wild blueberries for picking, and orange salamanders to catch. This weekend we’ll be visiting family, boating in the Delaware Water Gap, and of course (we are Tuscano’s after all) enjoying fine dining in the region!
I know I commented on this last month, but with all of the hurricane activity and storms barreling through the eastern U.S., I want to again stress how easy it is to get a flood policy through Tuscano. And now that the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is making some significant changes effective October 1st, this is a great time to promote this coverage with your clients. Tuscano fully supports the private Flood Insurance market. We have multiple carriers and programs, so we can provide coverage and pricing options for your clients. We have easy online rating for flood coverage, and we have a Flood product webinar which is available on-demand. Since you come to Tuscano for your brokerage Property, GL, XS, and Personal Lines, why not come for the Flood?
Lastly, I am excited to announce we have picked up a new Dog Bite Liability product which will be underwritten in our personal lines department, and *Esther-approved. Our fastest-growing product in Personal lines is habitational business – Homeowner and Dwelling policies. At the same time, we are also seeing more carriers adding dog or animal exclusions to their policy forms. It may be because of a breed of dog or past animal behavior, or an across-the-board exclusion. In most cases, the insured will go without coverage because what are they going to do? Well, that no longer has to be the case. Call us - Carrie, Judi or Dawn will be happy to give you a quote over the phone!
And there you have it, short and sweet, just as Bill would have wanted it. I hope you all have a relaxing and fun Labor Day weekend. Stay safe! And let’s keep those kids in school!
