News and Views: The Tools We Need

Newsletter – Monday, November 15, 2021
“To the man who only has a hammer, everything he encounters begins to look like a nail.”
― Abraham Maslow
Or, as Bill Tuscano used to say, “A tool in your hand is worth two in the bush.” Apparently, this Bill-ism didn’t sink in, because I still reach for the butter knife to tighten a loose screw! This is coming from a man who has a shed full of gadgets and implements of home maintenance! How many socket sets and tape measures does a person really need? And when it comes to gadgets, a good hammer and sharp razor knife can’t be improved on, unless they installed tracking devices so I would know where I last laid them down!
I learned a valuable lesson this summer about having the right tool for the job, or should I say the right equipment. My new golf clubs truly have improved my game (every little bit helps). And when I got my shiny new road bike, I found I actually could keep up with Jinny on the hills and in the hollows around my home in the Laurel Highlands.
At Tuscano Agency, we are all about building tools for our customers that make your job easier. From the ability to pay for policies online (you or your policyholders) to providing your office with policy download, we love being innovative for our customers' benefit. You get the whole toolbox when you work with Tuscano! That said, we are working on a facelift for our website (don’t worry the tools aren’t going anywhere), but your feedback always helps. Drop me an email and let me know what you find useful or what features you’d like us to consider.
Tuscano underwriters have an amazing toolset that enables them to get the job done. When I think of our transportation team, I see them as true craftsmen in the commercial auto underwriting space. If you are looking to place a 1 to 10-unit risk in PA or MD, we have exclusive markets that are very competitive. And, we have a stable of markets that will write fleets in other states though each carrier has its unique risk profile.
As we are hearing in the news almost daily, moving goods around the country is the backbone of the American economy. The people and equipment in the transportation industry are the backbone of the backbone! A trucker is a business person after all, and truck insurance keeps them on the road. It’s a privilege to be able to support and give peace of mind to such hard-working people. Our team at Tuscano is also hardworking. We are dedicated to providing insurance solutions, keeping the wheels turning, and the doors open!
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, please remember our office will be closed Thursday and Friday for the holiday. I hope you will be able to take some time to reconnect with friends and family in person. I know I’m looking forward to it!
Ever thankful,
Rob Tuscano
