As we embark on a new year, it’s impossible not to reflect on how much the Tuscano Agency has changed during my career (and maybe yours). When I stepped into the leadership role in 1992, I was very focused on growth and premium – we were small fish in a big pond! It still jazzes me to see our numbers hit new milestones!
It didn’t take long for me to recognize that a leader’s role in an organizations’ growth is a function of many important things - leadership, strategy, training, communication to name a few. My desire for Tuscano to rise to prominence in the marketplace meant I needed to learn these fundamentals and live them. We depend on our excellent staff who make writing and servicing tens of thousands of requests each week possible. We depend on our agency partners that trust us to find the insurance solution that is best for the customer. And we have an awesome leadership team that pays attention to the right things and promotes a culture of continuous improvement.
As many of you know, two and a half years ago my sister Jinny and I stepped aside from the day-to-day management of the Tuscano Agency. And while we are not retired, we’ve assumed supportive roles (and take more time off…). I am constantly impressed by our new executive leadership team and “third generation” of Tuscano leaders. Robin Tuscano, Jeremy George, and Ryan Stabile (affectionately known as “G3”). They have the experience, knowledge, and drive to take the Tuscano organization into its next 50 years and for that all of us are truly grateful.
Bill Tuscano started the tradition of the Tuscano newsletter and was very good at getting a reader’s attention with clever and interesting topics. His was a hard act to follow, but as usual, it drove us to work harder and aim higher! As the agency continues to evolve, more things will change and improve. One of those will be this monthly epistle. This will be my last newsletter as I pass the pen to Robin Tuscano. His role as President of the Tuscano Agency means he is in touch with what’s really going on day to day at the agency.
Over these last 30 years, I have relished my chats with you all. I’ve gotten so much positive affirmation from your comments and responses to this bi-monthly missive. Tuscano’s are by nature pretty good at story-telling so I am confident that I am leaving you in good hands and that you’ll get plenty of fresh perspective from Robin!
Speaking of things that will change and improve, G3 have also decided that Tuscano Agency will be closed on Monday, January 15th for Martin Luther King Day – a day of service.
Thank you, friends, for this amazing journey!
