September 16th, 2024

Can you believe that summer is over already? Next week marks the official first day of fall, and here in western Pennsylvania, we’re already experiencing some cooler weather. Sweater weather is here, the leaves are starting to change color, and it will be peak fall foliage (and mountain biking) season before we know it. Who’s ready for pumpkin spice everything?!?

Fall also means back-to-school time. Now, I’m not a very sentimental person. As a rule, we Tuscano’s are not emotionally demonstrative people. At a family gathering, you’re not likely to catch us talking about our feelings, and most of us are not what you’d call “huggers.” My grandfather, our founder, used to tell my grandmother, “I told you I loved you when I married you, and I’ll let you know if anything changes.” Of course, he was kidding. He had a great sense of humor and just adored his wife, but he was more likely to show it through his actions than words. You know what they say about apples and trees, I guess stoicism runs in my family!

This year, return-to-learning was a little different, and it had me experiencing all the feelings. That’s because Coco began her senior year of high school, and Mila started kindergarten. Oh, and Lola is in eighth grade (middle-child syndrome is a thing!). I can’t help but feel a little maudlin knowing that my babies are growing up. Next year, Coco will be heading off to college (please send more bind orders to help me pay for that). Also, for the first time in 17 years, I didn’t have any children enrolled in the Tuscano daycare, so it’s been a little lonelier for me at lunchtime without having Mila to entertain. Here at the office, we’ve been sharing first-day photos on our company social network, and it’s been great to see all those small humans on their journeys to become productive members of society. Here’s a pic of my kiddos, and I’d love to hear your back-to-school stories.

This month, we are sharing our solutions for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation. The Tuscano Agency loves to write all types of NEMT risks, so if you have a client transporting customers to doctor appointments, hospital visits, outpatient facilities, etc., give one of our fast, friendly, and professional underwriters a call! We can consider all sizes of risks, ambulatory or non-ambulatory. Coverages offered include General Liability, Professional Liability, Auto Liability, and Auto Physical Damage. Loading and Unloading coverage, too! If you’re interested in learning more, you can check out some of our resources here.

As always, I’d love to hear how we’re treating you. Please call or drop me a line to let me know!
